Trend: Organic Geometric Cut-outs
Design trends tend to cross many different disciplines and mediums.You wouldn't think there's many commonalities between
a porcelain fruit basket and a women's wedge sandal.
We were pleasantly surprised by the striking resemblance between the porcelain Alessi Citrus basket (designed by Doriana e Massimiliano Fuksas) and the sassy IXOS wedge sandal. Both of these Italian designs incorporate organic "river-rock" shaped cutouts. The citrus bowl creates a sort of grating through which you can peek and catch a glimpse of the fruit inside. Even though there's no secret what's in the sandal, when worn it also has a similar peek-a-boo pattern effect.
